A proper website for your group, for £20 a month.
I build it, host it and keep it up to date. You send me your changes once a week. Your group can pay the £20, pay part of it, or ask for sponsor support if that is out of reach.
For your group
- £20 a month, no setup fee
- Hosting and weekly updates included
- No contract, leave any time
- Your content stays yours
Groups that hold a community together
If your group serves local people and could use a good website, get in touch. Here are the kinds of group I am looking to work with.
Village halls
Bookings, events and how to get in touch.
Clubs and societies
Sports clubs, hobby groups and local societies.
Charities and voluntary groups
Local causes that need to be found and understood.
Classes
Karate, dance, boxing, yoga and fitness classes.
Other community groups are welcome too. Small local businesses can apply as well: priority for sponsor support goes to community-style businesses, the kind that serve and support their local area, so tell me how yours does. Are you a church? See JW Church Websites.
A site that just works
A fast, hand-built website that I look after for you. You never need to log in to anything.
The website
- Built and hosted by me, personally
- Clean, fast and mobile friendly
- Contact form, privacy and cookie policies
Weekly updates
Send me one batch of changes a week: news, events, photos, opening times. Send it by the end of Tuesday and I publish it between Wednesday and Friday that week.
Photos and privacy, handled sensibly
I will ask about permission for photos, especially of children, and keep contact details sensible, so your site is easy for local people to trust.
Three ways to cover the £20
Every community website costs £20 a month. What differs is who pays. Tell me what suits your group when you apply.
A
Your group pays
£20 a month by card, through Stripe. Nothing else to arrange, and you start straight away once I have built it.
B
Your group pays part
Put in what you can, for example £5 or £10, and sponsor support from the shared pot covers the rest.
C
The pot covers it
If your group cannot pay, the pot can cover the full £20 when there is room in it. You would go on the list and I will tell you where you are.
Your parish council or a local grant can help pay too. I can give you a written quote and invoices to attach to an application. See Grants and funders. Full details are on the pricing page.
A few simple things
Nothing complicated. It keeps the weekly round predictable, so £20 a month stays fair for everyone.
- Send updates in one batch a week
- Keep your information accurate
- Confirm you have permission for any photos, especially of children
- If sponsors help, keep the short sponsors' thank-you line in your footer
From application to live site
The first three sites are being built free as a proof of concept. After that, groups are taken on as they apply and as the pot allows.
Apply
Tell me about your group, what it does and who runs it. It takes a few minutes.
I get in touch
I reply, usually the same day, to check it is a good fit and talk through how you would like to pay.
Funding is agreed
If you pay, we set up your subscription. If you need sponsor support, I place you on the list, community groups and community-style businesses first, and tell you your place.
Site built, updates begin
I build your site, and from then on you send me your weekly batch of changes.
Getting ready? Use the website checklist, or see the grant wording if you want a funder or your council to pay.
Tell me about your group
A short application is all it takes. There is no cost and no obligation to apply.
