For local businesses

Put your business behind your community.

Give any amount a month to the shared pot. Every £20 a month in it funds another community website, and local people see your name as one of the businesses that made it happen.

For your business

  • Any amount you like, monthly
  • Name, logo and link on Our supporters
  • No contract, cancel any time
  • A receipt for your records on request
What you get

Visible goodwill, simply

Sponsoring is a straightforward way to be seen backing the groups your customers care about.

A credit people can see

Your business name, logo if you like, and a link to your own site, listed on Our supporters. The link is marked as a sponsored link.

Thanked on every funded site

Every website the pot funds carries a short thank-you to the community sponsors, linking to the supporters page where you are listed.

You set the amount

Give what suits your business each month. Every £20 in the pot funds a site, so a bigger amount funds more sites. There is no setup fee and no contract.

What a credit looks like

Plain, factual and easy to trust

Your listing sits on the Our supporters page. It is not an advert, so it suits every kind of group, and it is one place for me to keep accurate.

  • Your business name, and logo if you wish
  • A link to your website or social page
  • Wording we agree together before it goes live
How it works

Four steps to sponsoring

You give into the shared pot. If you would like your support to lean towards a type of group or an area, just say so.

Tell me about you

Send a short enquiry with your business name, the amount you have in mind, and any preference for the kind of group.

Agree the listing

We agree the wording, whether to include your logo, and the link. It is published on Our supporters.

Set up payment

I send a secure link to set up your monthly payment by card, through Stripe. Set amounts are £5, £10, £20 and £50, and other amounts can be agreed.

Your money goes to work

Your payment goes into the pot, and each week I use the pot to fund the next group on the list. Cancel at any time and payments stop.

Good to know

Straight answers

It is a sponsorship, not a donation. JW is not a charity, so Gift Aid does not apply. The money pays for websites to be built, hosted and kept up to date.

The pot is shared. I take your preference into account, but I cannot promise your money reaches one particular group.

The community stays in control. Sponsors have no say over what a group publishes. You get a listing, and each group's website stays theirs.

I keep listings suitable. I can decline a sponsor that does not suit the communities it would appear beside, for example around a children's club, so credits stay plain and factual.

If you stop, your listing is removed, and sites already funded stay live for three months while I make up the difference. More on the FAQ and in the terms.
