Pricing & costs
That's right — no setup fee, no design fee, nothing to find before your site exists. I build the site first, you see it and are happy with it, and it only starts costing you anything once it's live, at £50 a month.
For a standard community website — hosting, the domain, unlimited content updates and support — yes, £50 a month covers everything. A small number of things sit outside that, like a proper online booking or payment system, or taking over an existing domain name, and I'll always quote those separately and clearly before doing any work, so there's never a surprise on a bill.
No. There's nothing to pay while your site is being built. The first payment only happens once your site is live and your committee has had a chance to look it over.
Getting started
None. Getting started is a conversation, not a technical project — you tell me about your group, what you'd like the site to include, and any wording or details you already have, and I take it from there. Plenty of committees I work with have never built a website before, and that's completely normal.
Most sites are ready to review within a week or two of our first conversation, depending on how much detail you're able to give me up front and how quickly your committee can look things over. There's no fixed deadline pressure on either side — it's ready when it's right.
Just a conversation to begin with — what your group does, what you'd like people to find on the site, and any existing text, photos, opening times or contact details you already have. If you don't have much written down yet, that's fine too; I can help put the first version together and you can refine it once you see it.
Yes — if you've already got a Facebook page, an old website, or even just a noticeboard poster with your details on, send it over and I'll use it as the starting point rather than you having to write everything again from scratch.
Updates & content
It means what it says — send me a new event, a piece of news, a change of opening hours, a new photo, or anything else you'd like to change, as often as you like, and I make the change at no extra cost. There's no cap on the number of updates each month. The only thing "unlimited" doesn't cover is a full site redesign or an entirely new section built from scratch — that's a bigger conversation, but everyday content changes are always included.
Most updates are live within a day or two of you sending them over. If something's genuinely urgent — a last-minute cancellation, say — let me know that when you send it, and I'll always try to prioritise it.
Yes, absolutely — anyone on your committee can send me an update, by phone, email or the update-request form. There's no single login that only one person holds, so the site doesn't stall just because one volunteer is away or has stepped down.
No problem at all — just let me know and I'll amend it. There's no charge for corrections, and no limit on how many times we go back and forth until it's right.
Contract & leaving
There's no long-term contract to sign. It's a simple £50-a-month arrangement, and either side can end it with reasonable notice — I'd rather earn your group's business every month than lock you into something you can't get out of.
No formal contract or NDA is needed to get started — our terms are set out plainly on the Terms & Conditions page, and the arrangement itself is deliberately simple. If your committee needs something more formal in writing for its own records, just ask and I'm happy to put that together.
Just let me know and we'll bring the site down and end the monthly payments — there's no penalty or exit fee. It happens sometimes with volunteer-run groups, and it's never a problem.
That's entirely your choice to make, any time. If you decide to move to someone else or build your own site, just tell me and I'll help you get your content — text, photos, event listings — so you're not starting from nothing.
Technical questions
Not necessarily — I can set your site up on a suitable web address as part of getting started. If your group already owns a domain name, I can point it at your new site, and if you'd like a brand new one registered in your group's name, that's a small separate cost which I'll always agree with you first.
I do, entirely — it's all included in the £50 a month. You never need to think about hosting, technical updates, or anything running in the background; that's my job, not yours.
Yes — every site is built to work properly on phones and tablets as well as computers, since most visitors will find you that way.
